Meenakshi “Meg”
Rajan, M.D.
Board Certified · American Board of Plastic Surgery
Dr. Rajan is a plastic surgeon at the California Institute of Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery in Bakersfield. Her cosmetic practice centers on the face and the breast — eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty, facelift, breast augmentation, and breast lift.
Her Approach
Surgery that restores rather than replaces
Dr. Rajan's clinical philosophy is built around restraint. She prefers conservative, well-planned operations to dramatic ones — work that looks like the patient on a good day, rather than like someone else entirely. The aim is not a new face; it is a more rested, balanced version of the face that was always there.
That bias toward subtlety shapes how she consults: long appointments, candid conversation about whether surgery is the right answer at all, and clear expectations about recovery, scars, and what surgery cannot fix.
Principles
Four ideas that shape every plan
Harmony
She treats the face as a single composition rather than a set of separate parts. Eyelid surgery has to read well against the brow and midface; a facelift has to account for the neck and jawline; a nose has to suit the face it belongs to.
Identity
Every patient has features that define how others recognize them. Her work protects that while softening what anatomy or aging has changed — enhancing rather than replacing.
Individualization
She does not use one technique for everyone. Facelift approach, rhinoplasty plan, and eyelid technique are each chosen for the patient's anatomy, aging pattern, and personal goals.
Discretion
The standard she works to is that patients hear they look rested or refreshed — not that they had something done. Restraint, in her view, is a mark of skill rather than caution.
